Safety. Comfort. Health. Confidence
All-Inclusive, Compassionate Care
Your Dog is the Center of My Attention
I do not view grooming as a “one-size-fits-all” process. Every dog is unique; from their size, coat type and condition, behavior, and physical capabilities. I tailor products, techniques, handling, and everything else to the dog in front of me.
The Not-So-Basic
Basic Groom
Below is what is included in your dog’s grooming service and what that process looks like. More or less, but we’ll get there!
Nail Clip and/or File
Making sure the nails are not only trimmed as short as possible, but rounded out as well to prevent injury.
Ear Cleaning
Ears are cleaned of grime, dirt, and debris, as well as checked for any possible irritation or infection.
Teeth Wipes and Breath Freshener
Using a dental wipe, I wipe off any gunk and plaque off their teeth and freshen up with a dental foam.
Shampooing
Dogs get a suds filled bath with products tailored to their skin and coat needs. I usually shampoo twice to ensure the hair is cleansed well. Products are gentle as to not strip the coat.
Deep Conditioning
Dogs soak in a conditioner tailored for them to add moisture back into the skin and coat, add nourishment, and to ensure the coat will be manageable between grooms.
Blow Dry + Fluff/ Brush
They are dried throughly and have their coats fluffed out to be straight as preparation for the haircut, or brushed out to remove any undercoat. (Techniques depend on the coat type.)
Paw Pad, Sanitary, and Eye Trim
Not every dog needs these, but if they do, they’re getting it! I trim the hair between their paw pads, remove excess hair around sanitary areas, to keep them…sanitary. And of course around the eyes so they can see and be kept clean!
Spritz of Cologne
The dogs already smell nice without it, but it’s quite the cherry on top. You might want to use the colognes yourself!
Breed Dependent Grooming Services
These are not add-ons. This is included with grooming, it just depends on what is needed for what kind of dog.
Important
Please note that I do not demat. I will either spot shave what can be hidden or completely shave down. Matting causes a variety of health issues and dematting can cause injury and make those issues worse. Not to mention brushing out mats is not a good time for the dog and can be very painful. This is a time consuming process that is definitely more difficult than just doing a haircut on well maintained hair.
Acclimation Training & Teaching Cooperative Care
If your dog has significant difficulties with grooming for whatever reasons, I am willing to do an evaluation of your dog to see how we can help your dog become more comfortable with grooming.
I work on a case by case basis and usually every dog is different. Please contact me if you would like for me to work with you dog.
Pricing
Price depends on the amount of time taken to complete service. I do not do size or breed pricing. With me, you are not paying merely for a bath and brush, you are paying for a particular skillset and an experience for your dog.
The amount of time that it takes to complete a service depends on a wide variety of variables. Please refer to the list to the right.
To ensure that your pricing is low, please maintain your dog well at home by brushing and combing and bringing them in to be groomed professionally on an appropriate regular basis.
Time Variables
- Coat type (straight, curly, flat, double coat, etc)
- Condition of the coat (maintained, matted, knots and tangles, impacted, dirty, etc)
- Length of hair
- Complexity of haircut (clipper vs hand scissor)
- Behavior (cooperative, nervous, aggressive, fussy, fidgety, do they need breaks?)
- Physical Capabilities/Age (can they stand, do they need to sit, lay down, can they lift their legs, etc.)
